Classification According to Grygier (2000: 313) Wagin included Asteromyzostominae at subfamily level. Grygier provisionally elevated the subfamily to family, Asteromyzostomatidae (sic, should be Asteromyzostomidae), Wagin [details]
Spelling The alternate spelling Asteromyzostomatidae is incorrect as -stomidae is the family name ending for genera ending in "stomum" (based on a Greek noun, but transliterated incorrectly into Latin with a change in ending. Art. 29.3.2) [details]
