From editor or global species database
Spelling Örsted (1843 & 1844) used Leucodorum coecum, a neuter construct (see separate record, Aphia 1423816), thus misspelling Leucodore, which is masculine (derived from male person in etymology, and Johnston used masculine Leucodore 'ciliatus' for the type species). Thus Leucodore coecus would be the correct spelling and correct representation of the original combination, but contemporary usages seem to keep 'coecum' except when combined in a feminine genus such as Polydora. Quatrefages (1866: 302) used the correct spelling of 'Leucodore coecus'. [details]From other sources
