Spelling In his heading Baird (1868: 234) uses the spelling "puchella", but later on p.235 he uses "pulchella". Later authors have used "pulchella", so the "puchella" misspelling is assumed to be a lapsus calami for the Latin word "pulchellus" a diminutive of "pulcher" meaning beautiful. [details]
