Etymology The subspecific epithet opisthodentata is composed by the Latin prefix of Greek origin opistho-, meaning 'backward' or 'behind, and the Latin adjective dentata, inflection of dentatus and meaning 'toothed', and refers to the pharyngeal tooth being located around the middle region of the pharynx, backwards its usual position.
