Etymology evidently named after the collection site of Lüderitzbucht, Namibia, which in turn was named after the German trader Adolf Lüderitz who was prominent there in the 1880s. Earlier the bay was known as Angra Pequena, as named by the Portuguese. As Lüderitzi looks like a genitive based on the family name, it is an unchanging noun in apposition. [details]
