Etymology Not stated. Perhaps 'narica' is an adjective related to 'nares' nose, meaning the proboscis here, as Light comments that "The presence of an eversible and well differentiated proboscis is a highly unusual feature in this genus." [details]
Type locality author: "a single specimen collected August, 1962, off San Jose Creek Beach, Carmel, Monterey County, California, at a depth of between 100 and 200 feet in the Monterey Canyon in association with an ampharetid." [details]
