Etymology The specific epithet clavata (masculine: clavatus) is a Latin adjective meaning 'club-shaped', and refers to the shape of the body of the species: ''Thorax is swollen, abdomen much more slender, and the annelid resembles a club (hence the specific name clavata)'' (Mohammad, 1971: 42). [details]
