Status Originally a nomen nudum in Kinberg (1867:86) as only the name is given, with the comment that the species will be described in the Eugenie report. The Amphinomids were repeat published in the 1910 belated publication. [Waiting to check if the 1910 text included more on Chloeia bengalensis]

Hartman (1948) gives the following description of Chloeia bengalensis, possibly making available and validating the former nomen nudum name as Chloeia bengalensis Hartman 1948, but this evaluation needs to be considered in a future taxonomic work: "Branchiae are present from the fifth setiger. The prostomial caruncle extends back to the middle of the fourth setiger. The median antenna is long and extends back to the posterior end of the caruncle. The dorsum is pale except for 2 dark longitudinal stripes. Setae are straw colored; the notosetae and neurosetae are about equally thick. Some bifid notosetae have serrations directed downward, on the outer side of the longer fang." However, Hartman also deemed the species indeterminable due to its condition. Salazar-Vallejo (2023: 31) repeats this status, but has no information on the type and thus it is assumed he did not examine it.
