Diagnosis Original diagnosis by Webster & Benedict (1887: 735): "Much like Scolecolepis [considered by the authors to include Nerine cirrata M. Sars, 1851, following Malmgren (1867)], but distinguished from it by the possession of lateral pouches between the ventral rami, beginning near the anterior end, and continued to the posterior third".
