Taxonomy Eliason (1962: 267) was uncertain of his placement of his new species in genus Caulleriella, placing a question mark in parenthesis after the genus name. The species has since been placed in Aphelochaeta. Blake (2018: 116) in a listing of recombined Caulleriella stated "Referred to Kirkegaardia here based on the serrated nature of the acicular spines." [details]
