Synonymy This name is the oldest in the synonymy proposed by Lyman (1865) and also type taxon of his new genus Hemipholis. Considerable confusion arose around this name, which was abandoned by Koehler (1914) in favour of H. elongata, disregarding the priority rule. Hendler (2011) found that it has been used after 1899, and restored H. cordifera acc. to priority. [details]
