Description: Colour in life: disc dark green, arms dark green with light green banding, ventrally paler green overall (Sloan et al., 1979). Arm length to 15 mm, disc diameter to 4 mm. Disc granules longer than stout, pointed on radial shields and marginally. Six arms. Aboral arm plates as long as broad or slightly broader than long, distal edge convex, proximally acute. Oral arm plates longer than broad, distal edge convex, lateral angles concave. Four small arm spines, as long as the breadth of the segment. Single tentacle scale.
Habitat: sea grass beds and coral bases.
Also distributed in Maldive area, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan, south Pacific Is. and Hawaiian Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Lakshadweep (India) in Sastry (1991); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
General distribution: WIO, Red sea to W Pacific (Richmond, 1998); littoral waters to 15 m., tropical, Indo-Pacific Ocean (Rowe & Gates, 1995); East coast of Africa to Hawaiian Islands in Sastry (1991).
