Oral shields white with brown spots; arms variegated above and below, light and dark segmens often alternating; arm spines with 1-2 wide brown rings, never clavate, number very variable (Tortonese, 1980).
Also distributed in East Indies (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995); East Indies, Polynesia and Hawaii (Tortonese, 1980).
Ecology: benthic, inshore. General distribution: tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean, littoral waters (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
