Hydroid solitary, barrel-shaped, with 10-30 very fine, filiform tentacles, irregularly strewn over hydranth; frustules and medusa buds on hydranth body.
Medusa only juvenile known; up to 29 hollow marginal tentacles without marginal bulbs, each bearing many unicellular long and straight bristle-like expansions with one to three nematocysts on apices; manubrium quadrangular; mouth with 4 small lips; radial canals usually 4; up to 15 spherical statocysts, gonads unknown.
