Diagnosis Test ovate in outline, chambers one-half coil in length, quinqueloculine, and inflated with median ridge; wall calcareous, imperforate, porcelaneous; aperture with narrow straight simple tooth in the early chambers that in the adult stage is accompanied by two lateral hooked supplementary teeth projecting from the sides to result in the characteristic lyre-shaped opening.
