Diagnosis Test small, globular to pyriform, 25 µm to 35 µm in length; aperture terminal on short neck, asymmetrical internal septum at one side at base of neck, constricting the protruding pseudopodial trunk; granular cytoplasm only partially filling the test; one contractile vacuole; elongate bifurcating or anastomosing pseudopodia arise from pseudopodial trunk or stomostyle; reproduction by longitudinal or transverse fission, and by production of biflagellate zoospores.
