Diagnosis Test elongate, subtriangular in section in the early stage, later flattened and twisted, globular proloculus followed by triserially arranged early chambers, rapidly becoming biserial with inflated chambers and arched sutures, the plane of biseriality twisted about 180¡ with growth, margins carinate; wall calcareous, optically radial, finely perforate, surface smooth except for the lateral carinae, but early stage may be slightly hispid; aperture terminal, ovate, produced on a slight neck and provided with an internal toothplate.
