Notes  Description: Description: test flat, slightly broader than long; peristome slightly anterior; periproct on the oral side, in the postrior interambulacrum, half-way to the posterior margin; two open lunules in the posterior paired ambulacra; all miliary spines similar, no dark coloured spines; four genital pores (Sastry, 1995). Habitat: fine sandy areas near the river mouths (Sastry, 1995).
Also distributed in SE Arabia, Persian Gulf, W India, Pakistan, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China and south Japan (Clark & Rowe, 1971); India (West Bengal), Andamans, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala (Sastry, 1995); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
General distribution: tropical, discontinuous (western Indian Ocean, west Pacific Ocean), depth range 0-5 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995); Indo-west Pacific (Sastry, 1995).
