Ecology: benthic, inshore, continental shelf, deposit feeder. General distribution: tropical, Indo-west Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-216 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
Remark Mortensen (1948a) doubts the identity of Brown's specimen (1910b) from Mozambique and H.L. Clark' s (1923a) from Natal. The East African specimen in the British Museum record is one from Zanzibar (Clark & Rowe, 1971).
In Subgenus (Stolonoclypus) A. Agassiz, 1863. Type data: status and whereabouts undetermined. Type locality: unknown (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
