Taxonomy In the literature, are frequent mentions of the copepod genus Kuznetzovia described by Rylov from Baikal. Thus, L.S. Berg writes in his work .. The fauna of Lake Bajkal, and its origin: "V. M. Rylov definitely told me on 3.VII.1919 that, besides Diaptomus graciloides, he had found a new genus Kuznetzovia in Baikal, which differs from Diaptomus as strongly as does Hemidiaptomus." V. Brehm mentions in his "Introduction to Limnology", this genus as endemic to Baikal. However, we find in Rylov’s work on the Freshwater-Calanoids of the USSR, that Kuznetzovia is not mentioned. In view of the great interest that the Baikal fauna has specifically for zoogeographers, it would be very greatly desired, to learn more detail about this genus, quite apart from the fact that copepod systematists wish to know more about it.
--- Since according to an oral communication of Rylov’s, the original material has been lost, the present investigation can be based only on a drawing prepared by Rylov, of the fifth foot of the male, which for the orientation of the reader is reproduced below.

SO: the genus was never "published" and is I guess a nomen nudum. The "author" should be Rylov (serves him right for never resolving the question in print).
