Nomenclature Barnard & Karaman (1991, p. 49, fig 16) add at the end of their “diagrammatic key to families” the “Austroniphargidae”, however, without explaination. Väinölä et al. (2008) use “Austroniphargidae” in Table 1 and 2 on p. 244-246 and in the text on p. 251, but without explaining or defining this taxon. In these two particular cases the name is a nomen nudum. The same authors place in their Fig. 3 the label “Aus” for Madagascar, and explain this abbreviation with “Austrocrangonyctidae”, another nomen nudum and most probably a lapsus calami. [details]
