Nomenclature According to Augener (1912) Chone infundibuliformis Krøyer, 1856 is the same as Sabella rubripunctata Grube, 1846, a new name Grube created for Rathke's (1843) sabellid specimen (examined by Augener) misidentified by Rathke as Amphitrite volutacornis of Montagu. Thus, if implemented the name Chone rubripunctata (Grube, 1846) would replace Chone infundibulifomis. This scenario needs further evaluation [G Read, January 2021] [details]
