Description Occurs at temperatures ranging from 26° to 29°C. Inhabits deep lagoons channels, seaward reef waters, and occasionally enters rivers. Juveniles in estuaries. Remains in slow-moving schools in the passes or outside the reef during the day, then leaves the schools and feeds individually at night (Ref. 4795) on small fishes and crustaceans. Rarely netted. Marketed fresh, dried/salted (Ref. 9283) and frozen (Ref. 9987). Consumed broiled and baked (Ref. 9987). [details]
