Etymology authors: "plurihamus, is a combination of Latin plurimus and hamus, meaning [as combined] ‘abundant hooks’. This name refers to a large number of scaphal hooks." The authors appear to treat Lagis as a masculine genus. However, Lagis is feminine. However, 'hamus' is a masculine noun, thus 'plurihamus' can be treated as an invariant noun in apposition. [details]
