Type locality Southwest Pacific Ocean, New Caledonia, L'Île-des-Pins (geocoordinates not provided, but estimated with gazetteer to be approximately lat. -22.57º, long. 167.39º). [details]
Type material The type material includes only the holotype, mounted in a slide. It was initially deposited at the collections of the Laboratoire de Zoologie de la Faculté Libre des Sciences d'Angers, with the reference number IRFA SYL Y14 (Rullier, 1972; Licher, 1999), but apparently it is now deposited in the collections of the MNHN, Paris (Álvarez-Campos et al., 2012). Etymology The species is dedicated to Mr. Y. Plessis, who collected the holotype in 1961.
