Etymology The dactylus on the weak and elongate propodus of Gn1 in Scaphodactylus is “leaf- or boat-shaped” (skaphos = boat), widened and excavated, as the authors of this genus (Rauschert & Andres, 1993) described. Here, the dactylus is much more powerful in relation to the robust propodus, and it reminds of scooping with a spoon: “ligula” is spoon in Latin. The gender of the new name is masculine. [details]
