Grajales & Rodríguez created the genus Exaiptasia and synonymized several nominal species previously in Aiptasia as Exiptasia pallida. They prefer that epithet because of its wide use in the broader community of biologists. This preference disregards precedence and is ultimately overturned by the ICZN.
