Note  Authority: The authority is anonymous, although may be seen attributed to Storm. Storm informally described a polynoid in 1879, but did not provide any name. In this anonymously authored 1888 society report minutes it is named as Polynoe paradoxa on p.85, with back reference to the 1879 description. According to the ICZN Art.50.2 authorship of name is the "person responsible for the name" not the author of the work, unless (Art. 50.1.1) the identity is not explicit in the work. Storm is not explicitly mentioned. Then "the author is deemed to be the person who publishes the work", in this case an anonymous person or persons. As (Art.14) the taxon name was published before 1951, an anonymous name does not prevent availability. [details]
