Type species Habe [1962, Coloured illustrations of the shells of Japan, 2, ed. 2: 36, appendix page 13] corrected the identification of the type species to Turritropis turrita Habe, 1962. Under Art. 70.3, the latter could be selected as the type species, but such selection has not been made and Trichotropis cedonulli remains the type species. [details]
