Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorTaxonomic remark In 1816, Lamarck divided all known stalked jellyfishes into two species, "4-rayed and 8-rayed", respectively into Lucnernaria quadricornis and Lucernaria octoradiata. The latter grouping containing Manania auricula (as Lucernaria auricula) and Lucernariopsis campanulata (as Lucernaria campanulata), species still recognized as valid today. [details]
