Authority The authority of the name Bicladinae is often given as Stunkard & Corliss, 1951. However, the name was introduced by Poche in 1926 (not 1925, as is mentioned erroneously by Stunkard & Corliss), beit as a family. This is acknowledged by Stunkard & Corliss (1951: p.327), who consider the taxon as a subfamily within Umagillidae, and add Desmote to the subfamily. This, however, does not change authorship of the name (see ICZN Art. 50.3.1), hence the correct reference is: Bicladinae Poche, 1926.  [details]
