description Amphimetra with large stout cirri more or less straight proximally, curved distally, 30-50 mm long, of 34-51 segments; longest proximal cirrals as long as broad to ~2x broader than long; proximal cirrals sometimes with a broad transverse ridge or paired spines; distal cirrals with aboral spine or pointed tubercle. Arms usually 10 (rarely 11-12 with IIBr2); 110-300 mm long; IBr2 series with prominent conical synarthrial tubercle. Specimens identified as A. t. papuensis with slightly developed synarthrial tubercles are smaller and most likely immature. [details]
