Taxonomy: The name Dolium zonatum Green, 1830 was used for the species currently referred to as Tonna zonata (Green, 1830) by (a. o.): Reeve (1849 pl. 7, figs. 12a-b): Mörch (1853:111); Küster (1857:75); Hanley (1860:488); Dunker (1860:105); Tryon (1885:263); Paetel (1887:222) [details] Taxonomy: Beu (2005:119) lists the name Dolium zonatum (Green, 1830) in the synonymy of Tonna galea (Linnaeus, 1758), with the remark (2005:121) that he is - at that point - not sure whether two species or a single species is concerned. Vos (2007:57-67) separated the two species based on the available recent material. [details] | |||||||||||||
