Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorEditor's comment Nomen oblitum. Conchoserpula is a forgotten name. Blainville (1818) erected Conchoserpula for Serpula triquetra Linnaeus, now in Spirobranchus, a genus Blainville also named in 1818, so there is no priority issue. In the past it has been recorded as a synonym of Pomatoceros, but if Conchoserpula was an available name Pomatoceros (1844) would be a junior synonym of it, rather than the other way around. Similarly by priority it could not be a synonym of Vermiliopsis (1894) (the status given in Hartman Catalogue), regardless that both Pomatoceros and Vermiliopsis are much better known names.  [details]
