Distribution The distribution of T. rufa in the eastern Mediterranean Sea as recorded by Malt et al. (1989) was questioned by Böttger-Schnack (1997) and Böttger-Schnack & Schnack (2009). They found a number of as yet undescribed, new species close to T. rufa and T. hawii in the Mediterranean Sea, which need to by examined further and described in detail. By then, the recent record of T. rufa in the Gulf of Naples (Di Capua & Boxshall 2008) might have to be revised as well. [details]
