Taxonomy According to Heron & Bradford-Grieve (1995) the taxonomic status of Oncaea heronae Malt is uncertain. Re-examination of the type material of the species by these authors have shown that Malt´s original description was obviously based on two different species. The authors state that a re-examination of the species in question from fresh material would be needed in order to clarify the morphological inconsistencies. [details]
