Type locality Japan, Sea of Japan, Pacific Ocean. The species was described with base on specimens from two different brackish water coastal lagoons in the Japanese southern coast of the Sea of Japan, but no type was designated. The two localities are: i) Kukusi-ko [= Kukushi-ko, Fukui, Chubu, Honshu (gazetteer estimate 35.5996°, 135.9078°); 1-2.2 m, gray mud]; ii) Zinzai-ko [= Jinzai-ko, Shimane, Chugoku, Honshu (gazetteer estimate 35.3257°, 132.6829°); 0.8-2.2 m, brown mud]. [details]
