Taxonomy This is a new name, not a misrecorded usage instance of the senior synonym. Webster & Benedict (1887) were aware of the similarity of their specimen to Laonice cirrata (M. Sars, 1851) [as Scolecolepis cirrata, which they also recorded], yet used the same species name in a new genus.  [details]
