| Note | |
Editor's comment: Spirorbis nautiloides has been attributed to Gmelin (1791); however, Gmelin's Serpula nautiloides is a species inquirendam belonging to the Foraminifera. Lamarck coined the name Spirorbis nautiloides for Serpula spirorbis not Linnaeus, sensu Mull. Zool. Dan. 3, p. 8.; and is synonymised with Spirorbis borealis by Hartman (1959: 603) [details]
