Nomenclature: Serpula Hombroni, attributed to Valenciennes, in the "Collection du Musee" by Quatrefages (1866: 527), is apparently a manuscript name only and thus the name Vermilia hombroni is to be assigned to Quatrefages. [details] Status: regarded to be indeterminable by Hartman (1959: 606), and questionably attributed to Spirobranchus cariniferus (Gray, 1843) by Day & Hutchings (1979: 146), Glasby & Read (1998).
