Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorDistribution New Caledonia.  [details]

Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorEtymology The specific epithet filiformis refers to the thin and long body of the holotype.  [details]

Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorHabitat Detritic coralligenous soft sediments, at shallow water.  [details]

Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorTaxonomy The species was considered to be a nomen dubium by Licher (1999), due to the very poor condition of the mounted holotype and single known specimen. According to Licher (1999), it is only possible to observe with some detail the chaetae and aciculae, and these resemble Typosyllis edensis Hartmann-Schröder, 1989. However, it was impossible to draw any other conclusions from the available type material, due to its condition.  [details]

Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorType locality Pacific Ocean, New Caledonia, Baie de Saint-Vincent (geocoordinates not provided, but estimated with a gazetteer to be approximately lat. -22.021º, long. 166.083º).  [details]
