Notes
From editor or global species database
Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorAuthority Savigny is apparently recombining a name, Terebella vagans Leach found "in Litteris", in which case W E Leach is the original author. However, it is unclear if Leach published the name (perhaps in 1816), or if it is just one of his British Museum collection MS names. Savigny in a footnote seems to indicate he (Savigny) is newly describing the species ("Au moment où l'on alloit procéder à l'impression de cette feuille, j'ai reçu de M. William Elford Leach, conservateur du Muséum britannique, beaucoup d'Annelides qui m'étoient inconnues. Je m'empresse de lui exprimer ma gratitudè, et d'insérer ici cette nouvelle espèce de Pleione" [When about to proceed with the printing of this sheet I received from Mr. William Elford Leach, curator of the British Museum, many Annelid who were unknown to me. I hasten to express my gratitude here, and insert this new species of Pleione]) [details]
