Status Until 2016 Pista zachsi was recorded in WoRMS as a valid species authored by Annenkova in 1937. However, this was not...
Status Until 2016 Pista zachsi was recorded in WoRMS as a valid species authored by Annenkova in 1937. However, this was not correct. Annenkova did not indicate a new species and begins her record with (in translation) "This species was described by me in 1925." There she used the spelling Pista sachsi. Pista zachsi is her attempted spelling change, strictly a misspelling of Pista sachsi Annenkova, 1925, and the 1937 record is a description of a further single specimen from the Japan Sea, precise location unspecified. Chaetal figures are given. The original spelling of 'sachsi' cannot be changed. See the record for Pista sachsi for further explanation [details]
