Taxonomy Chamberlin (1919: 385) commented that "a considerable number of the genera in this family [Opheliidae] are very imperfectly known." Ironically Chamberlin contributed his own poorly circumscribed new opheliid genera, including Antiobactrum on the very same page for Ophelina brasiliensis Hansen. Sene Silva (2007: 9) suggested that Ophelina brasiliensis was a synonym of Ophelina acuminata, the type taxon of Ophelina, which would make Antiobactrum a synonym of Ophelina [details]
