Nomenclature As explained by Nishikawa (1998: 254) Monro (1927) used 'Urechinae', not Urechidae, but his authorship applies to all family-level ranks of the name. Monro's Urechinae was a subfamily of Echiuridae. His usage predates that of Fisher & MacGinitie, 1928 as Urechidae, although their authorship has been entered into the Official List of Family-Group Names in Zoology as the result of ICZN Opinion Number 941.
