Description Medium-sized cells (24–27 μm long, 22–27 μm wide), dorso-ventrally flattened. Hypocone asymmetrical with the right lobe larger and more rounded than the left. Cingulum median to premedian, displaced twice its own width. Sulcus extending onto the epicone. Several yellow-green chloroplasts, variable in shape. Nucleus round to oval, centrally located with the bulk in the hypocone. Apical groove elevated to form a crest on the apex, and extending dorsally for a short distance onto the epicone (Botes et al., 2003b). From Lassus et al. 2016.
