Distribution: Also distributed in East indies, North of Australia, Philippines and South Pacific Islands (Clark & Rowe (1971)); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Ecology: benthic, inshore, continental shelf, suspension feeder. General distribution: tropical, east Indo-west Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-91 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
Type locality: Type locality: unknown (since Müller (1841) based this species on Comatula multiradiata: Lamarck [non Linnaeus], the type locality in 'les mers de l'Inde' as given by Lamarck, though A.H. Clark has considered that the type is the specimen from the Moluccas subsequently described by Müller in 1849; Clark & Rowe (1971).
