Remark Type locality: Jakarta (as Batavia), Indonesia. Holotype in Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (France) (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Treated as a subspecie of Asterina burtoni in James & Pearse (1969). Sometimes erroneously referred to as A. cephea. Asterina cepheus (Valenciennes) in Ludwig (1899).Asterina cephea Valenciennes in Decary (1924).Asterina cephea (Müller & Troschel, 1842) in Clark (1954). [details]
