Description Length: 19-20 cm not including median rectrix extension which is over 12.5 cm. Plumage: above, olive green on back, blue on rump, tail coverts and tail and rufous on hind neck and nape; below pale green with more blue on crissum and bordering black neck band; underwing cinnamon; throat white; crown and broad eyeline black; white forehead continuous with broad white superciliary line. Immature more olive than adult with some pale tips to feathers; throat yellowish. Bare parts: iris red; bill black; feet and legs light brown. Habitat: sandflats associated with mangrove; breed in arid areas; non-breeding in varied habitat including forest clearings. Intra-African migrant, breeds in northern Africa including Red Sea area. <390><391><393> [details]
