Editor's comment: regarded to be a complex of species by ten Hove & Nishi (1996), and split in five taxa by Pillai (2009c): Spirobranchus latiscapus, murrayi, tenhovei, zelandicus and zibrowii. The synonyms for Spirobranchus latiscapus as given above, as well as possible synonyms as given below should be checked against the new classification by Pillai. [details]
